Our philosophy is that art skills can be taught and learned. Students begin their studies with a variety of backgrounds and art experiences. Students are not expected to already be a good artist to take art classes (especially the Drawing and Design I course). They should take an art course to learn and refine their observation and rendering skills. A positive attitude, willingness to work hard, and the ability to follow directions will take them very far. When evaluating the work of students, as well as their participation, attitude, effort and improvement are the most important factors.
