Business

Realizing that all students benefit from the academic and “real world” experiences presented in our courses, the Business Department, with community and family support, continually strives to present a relevant, up-to-date curriculum highlighted with impacts from business, a variety of teaching strategies, innovative action-packed activities, and technology-rich applications so our students are well prepared to meet future challenges in college, the business world, and their personal lives and are inspired to pursue continuous learning with enthusiasm and success.

We encourage students to develop critical-thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and human relations skills in a creative and caring environment where students are motivated to excel to their highest potential with confidence and pride in themselves and their accomplishments so they will be competitive in their future endeavors.

IT Essentials Information

Notice to all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Parents

All freshmen and sophomores must satisfy an Information and Technology computer graduation requirement prior to beginning their junior year.  The requirement can be satisfied by either enrolling in the Information and Technology Essentials class or by testing out of the requirement by demonstrating proficiency on the Information and Technology Assessment.

The assessment is being offered on Tuesday, March 13 at 2:45 pm. If your son or daughter is interested in taking the test this semester, s/he must complete registration form and return it to the Guidance Office no later than Monday, March 12. Registration forms received after that date will not be accepted.

Additional information about the types of skills being tested is available on the registration form  Students should stop in the Counseling Office if they need additional information about the test or about the requirement.  Students are strongly encouraged to use the list of skills included on the registration form, along with videos available from Atomic Learning to help prepare for the test.  Information about Atomic Learning can be found in the Students section of the Nicolet web page.

The School Board approved a change in the requirement such that students will no longer be offered the option of testing out of the requirement after this semester.  This will be the last opportunity to test out of the class.  Any student who does not test out of the class this semester, will need to take the course in order to satisfy the graduation requirement.  Tuesday, March 13 is the spring testing date.
