Procedure for in-school visits with college representatives
From Scheduled Classes
1. Sign up for meeting in the Counseling Office (the sign-up book is located at Mrs. Gintoft’s desk). Be sure to include your teacher’s name during the hour that the meeting will be held. Your pass will be sent to that teacher the day before the meeting**. No passes will be given out on the day of a meeting. Plan ahead!!!
2. Go to the class and receive your pass. Report to the Counseling Office Conference Room. Attendance will be taken, and your pass should be signed before you leave.
3. Return the signed pass to your teacher the following day. It is your responsibility to make up all work missed.
4. If a major test, class presentation, or writing assignment is taking place, see your counselor before the scheduled meeting date. You may arrange for the representative to leave printed materials for you.
From Study Hall
1. Sign up at least one day in advance in the Counseling Office (the sign-up book is located at Mrs. Gintoft’s desk). Be sure to include your study hall teacher’s name during the hour that the meeting will be held. Your pass will be sent to that teacher the day before the meeting. No passes will be given out on the day of the meeting.
2. On the day of the meeting, report to study hall to pick up your pass.
3. Take all study materials to the meeting; it will last the entire period.
4. Attendance will be taken in the Counseling Office, and your pass should be signed before you leave. Return the signed pass to your study hall teacher the following day.
**NOTE** Your current performance in classes and the admissions requirements of certain colleges may affect your eligibility to attend, and a pass may not be issued. College visits are limited to Juniors and Seniors.
