Staff Development Programs

The Technology Services Deparment offers a variety of staff development programs for Nicolet staff members ranging from one hour programs to year-long programs. Please browse the options below and speak to John Reiels at #8164 about any questions you might have about these opportunities.

Technology Mentor Program

The Technology Mentor Program is designed to pair a strong technology teacher who uses innovative instructional strategies with a teacher who is looking to use technology to transform teaching and learning in his or her classroom. The strength of the program is in the individual on-going attention that the mentor partner receives from the mentor, the Director of Technology and other program participants throughout the course of the school year. The program is offered every two years and requires a minimum of 8 mentor/partner pairs in order to run. Teachers interested in participating should contact John_Reiels@nicolet.k12.wi.us for more information.

After School Workshops

Workshops are frequently offered during the after school hours of 2:30-3:30 p.m. throughout the school year. Announcements regarding the scheduling of these events will be posted in the "Staff Matters" conference folder in e-mail. Typically, the workshops last 45 minutes or less and usually do not require multiple days. Workshops are offered during the times of the year that would have the greatest benefit for staff members. The table below lists various productivity, administrative, instuctional and other professional development workshops currently offered after school. Please contact John Reiels for more information or with suggestions for additional offerings.

Annual Inservice Day

The Director of Technology works with a planning committee to establish workshop activities for the annual inservice day. In some years, the day consists of a variety of workshop selections. Teachers are given a catalog of workshop offerings several weeks in advance of the inservice day so that they have adequate time to select workshops and plan their day. Activities include technology, curriculum, diversity and learning theory. Staff members should contact John Reiels for more information.
