Accelerating Achievement

On March 16th, NHS students took part in the AATG Southeast Wisconsin Regional German Pronunciation Contest. Held at Greenfield High, the event required students to present a poem and then make a 90 second extemporaneous presentation. Nicolet had an excellent showing, making up over half of all high school state qualifiers from southeastern Wisconsin. A special shout out to sophomore German One student Christian Ellner who earned a rare 41 score on the 40 point scale. Asha Langewisch & Victoria Jewell have been selected as a Service Above Self recipient who demonstrates commitment to the community through service and volunteerism, impeccable character, and high academic potential and performance. Every year, the Rotary Club of Milwaukee celebrates the success of local high school students through the annual Service Above Self Awards. Asha will receive a $50 cash award, a $50 cash gift to the charity of her choice, and a certificate. Way to go 👏

Team 4786 - Nicolet FEAR competed in the Wisconsin Regional event this past weekend at the UW-Panther arena with 53 other teams from Wisconsin and the Midwest. Adapting throughout the tournament, Team 4786 rose from a 54th place start to finish ranked 15th by the end of the qualification round. Partnering with teams from Mukwonago High School and Marquette University High School - our alliance ran the table through the Tournament Bracket and won the Wisconsin Regional Championship, earning an invitation to the World Championships in Houston, TX. Team 4786 earned its third straight Engineering Inspiration Award, which celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community. This award earns a team the honor of competing at the World Championships. Congratulations 🤖

Nicolet Union High School is looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable person to lead our High School Gymnastics program and oversee a year round youth gymnastics program. Nicolet High School Gymnastics won a Team State Championship in 2023 and annually qualifies multiple gymnasts for the WIAA Gymnastics Individual State Tournament. The Nicolet Mock Trial team #1 competed in the Wisconsin mock trial state competition. The team expertly argued the civil case of Flynn Forrester vs Sam Sergeant and came out with a 14 place finish! Alex Anoma won one of the coveted 10 best attorney awards of the weekend! We are very proud of Alex, our seniors and the entire team for their hard work and stellar performance throughout the season👩‍⚖️

Nicolet Spanish 4 and 5AP students have been creating a partnership with Acosta Middle School by creating journals and writing back and forth to each other. The students got to meet their journaling buddies for the first time! They bonded over a marshmallow challenge, eating lunch and doing some indoor activities (including an impromptu fashion show), with a scavenger hunt around the school to end the visit! If you see a Spanish student, congratulate them for getting their ten thousand steps in - keeping up with middle schoolers is harder than it looks ❗

Ms. Zeimentz and Ms. Walny’s American Literature classes joined forces to play a Gatsby version of Cards for Humanities 🃏

The Nicolet Financial Investment Challenge Bowl teams 1 & 2 qualified for the state tournament on May 15. It was an all Nicolet final as both teams faced each other in the regional championship. Winning team members Jack Sullivan Michael Cherny Brandon Pargamotnikas Way to go👏
