Nicolet Union High School has a Student of the Month program to help promote academic achievement, academic growth, leadership, and resilience in the classroom. The UW-Milwaukee MS Athletic Training program recently honored Marissa Strehlow, MS, ATC with the "Outstanding Preceptor" award for this year. Marissa is an outstanding clinical educator who regularly supervises the UWM athletic students that are placed at Nicolet. Students love the learning experience and mentoring that Marissa provides, and appreciate working with the staff and students of Nicolet.

Congratulations to the team of Asher O'Desky, Jack Schultz, Matan Steigmann, and Drew Hongsermeier for capturing the state championship at the Financial and Investment Challenge Bowl in Madison 👏
Their outstanding performance and deep understanding of financial concepts led Nicolet to its second consecutive state title, solidifying the school's reputation as a powerhouse in financial literacy and investment knowledge. This remarkable back-to-back achievement reflects the team's dedication, preparation, and teamwork.

Last week, the Black Student Union (BSU) hosted a panel of local entrepreneurs, including Nicolet alums. These panelists shared their stories of starting their businesses, and answered questions from students. Nicolet senior Zee Isahaku dominated at the International Science and Engineering Fair last week in Columbus, OH 🔬
Zee won two awards: a specialty award from the International Council on Systems Engineering and 3rd place category award in Environmental Engineering.
This is the largest STEM research competition in the world with 1800 students from 70+ countries competing.

The Nicolet ASL (American Sign Language) Club collected over 180 books to benefit HEAR Wisconsin Kellogg Child & Family Program❗
This program provides communication and therapy options including spoken language and sign language for families of children with hearing differences. We use books in all of the work we do. Whether that be in our toddler communication groups, our home visits, or to give away at our Family Link events.

James Becker named Nicolet Head Football Coach 🏈
James Becker will be leaving his position as Defensive Coordinator at Marquette University High School to lead the Knights football program. Coach Becker was previously a coach at Nicolet before departing to coach at University School and Marquette.
At USM, Becker was named the 2017 Midwest Classic Conference Assistant Coach of the Year and helped the Wildcats to their first ever Regional Championship in 2020. Arriving to Marquette in 2021, coach Becker led the Hilltopper defensie to the 2023 Division 1 State Championship Game, defeating Franklin to claim the title. He was recognized as the 2023 Greater Metro Conference Assistant Coach of the Year, the WFCA 2023 State Assistant Coach of the Year, and was recognized as one of 32 National Broyles Award winners, awarded to the most outstanding assistants in the country.
Nicolet Athletic Director Kirk Krychowiak said “We feel like we’ve hired the right person to lead our program and to continue building off our recent successes. Coach Becker is a winner.”
When he is not on the field or watching film, James enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Brandi, are proud parents to two incredible children, Aybree and Easton. In his free time you can find him on a golf course, cutting the lawn, reading up on leadership, or spending time watching the two children participate in their athletic endeavors.

Last week, we welcomed our 2025-2026 Link Crew for their first training❗
Over 80 eager and enthusiastic junior and senior student leaders have been selected to onboard our Class of 2029 in August. Ms. Hills led the training and through games, stories, and team challenges, started these leaders on their journey towards providing a safe, informative, and engaging transition to Nicolet Union High School for our incoming 9th graders on August 27th and 28th.




The Nicolet Recreation Department & Nicolet Special Education Department invites you to the 18th Annual Autumn Artisan's Fair on Saturday, November 8th from 10:00am - 3:00pm at Nicolet High School 🍂

Nicolet music students recently performed in 30 music events at the WSMA STATE Music Festival at UW-Parkside 🎶
The WSMA State Festival is for students/ensembles that earned a “starred first” rating (*1) at the Class A level at a district festival.
Four events were nominated for exemplary performance recognition. The Exemplary Performance Recognition Project expands recognition of outstanding performers at the WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival. State festival adjudicators select the most exceptional performances at each of the festival campuses through a two-step process.
