The Nicolet-Shorewood Ski Team opened their 2023 season skiing giant slalom at The Rock Snowpark under less than ideal conditions due to the recent warm weather and soft snow. The Varsity Girls put together a strong team effort to move up from 3rd place after the first run to claim 2nd place behind Slinger. Emma Bailey (Shorewood) earned a 3rd place podium finish and was followed by 3 of her teammates finishing in the Top 10 with Anna Glaisner (Nicolet) 6th; Avi Dickman (Nicolet) 9th; and Ella Pringle (Nicolet) 10th. Teammates Megan Dufek (Nicolet) and Louisa Fowler (Shorewood) also finished in the top half of the field showing the depth of this team. The Varsity Boys were paced by Hayden Summ's (Nicolet) 10th place finish. The JV Blue Girls finished 2nd overall and had two Top 5 finishers with Sydney Pringle (Nicolet) 2nd and Megan Dufek (Nicolet) 5th. The next race is slalom at Alpine Valley on January 11th.
